Otoplasty (Ear Aesthetics)

“With ear aesthetics, rediscover your confidence through a natural and balanced look that harmonizes with your facial features.”

What is Ear Aesthetics (Otoplasty)?

Ear aesthetics (otoplasty) is a surgical procedure performed to correct aesthetic and functional issues related to the shape, size, or position of the ears. It is most commonly preferred in cases of protruding ears, often referred to as “prominent ear,” where the ears extend outward more than usual from the head.

The goal is to achieve ears that appear natural, balanced, and in harmony with the face. The procedure can be performed on both children and adults.

How is Ear Aesthetic Surgery (Otoplasty) Performed?

Ear aesthetic surgery is performed under local or general anesthesia. The surgeon makes small incisions in hidden areas, either behind the ear or within the natural folds, to reshape the cartilage and skin. Excess skin may be removed, and the cartilage is repositioned or reshaped to achieve the desired contour.

The surgery usually takes 1–2 hours, and patients can typically be discharged on the same day. Over time, the scars become barely visible or completely fade into the natural folds of the ear.

Day 1

Mild pain, swelling, and a sensation of pressure in the ears may occur. It is important to keep the head elevated and to carefully maintain the protective bandage.

Day 7

The bandage is usually removed, and swelling and sensitivity in the ears begin to decrease. Patients may resume daily activities, but direct impact to the ears should be strictly avoided.

1st Month

Swelling significantly subsides, and the ears begin to take on their new shape. Strenuous activities such as sports should still be avoided.

1st Year

The ears fully heal and attain a natural appearance. Scars become nearly invisible.
